  In this workshop you will learn how to lead children’s songs and action games, read picture books, and practice other effective communication activities and games in English for use with young children. Adults’ verbal communication skills are important for children’s development no matter what language is used, so teachers, parents, and anyone else who interacts with children can benefit from this course while at the same time brushing up their English communication skills.
  　子どもの歌や手遊びの指導方法、絵本の読み聞かせ、幼児との英語での効果的なコミュニケーション活動やゲームの実践方法を学びます。子どもとの対話における大人の言葉の使い方は、言語に関わらず、子どもの発達にとって重要です。そのため、先生や保護者、その他子どもと接するすべての方にとって役立つ内容となっており、同時に英語コミュニケーション能力も向上させることができます。

  プロフィール	Miriam T. Black is an associate professor in the Department of Early Childhood Education and Care of the Faculty of Human Sciences at Toyo Eiwa University. Her areas of interest include examining the role of language in the development of higher thinking processes, especially in preschool-aged children and those with developmental delay.　東洋英和女学院大学人間科学部保育子ども学科准教授。研究分野は、特に就学前の幼児や発達に遅れのある子どもたちにおける、言語が高次思考過程の発達に果たす役割の検討。
