【学習内容】The purpose of this class is for students to move smoothly from a basic level to an intermediate level of English communication. We will be learning English for various everyday situations. In each situation, we will learn ome new grammar points and strategies for better communication.
【学習方法】The class will be about 75% speaking and 25% listening activities. I use a communicative method. The objective of the communicative learning is to make your meaning clear in English. Interaction is important, especially with other students. Often students will work in pairs or groups. Sometimes students will do role plays and give reports. Students will also practice listening with the course CD. Outside the class, students will have weekly homework to do. This homework will usually be the grammar practice activities and easy reading from the textbook as well as listening activities with the student's textbook CD. The textbook is supported by online listening and grammar activities. I will ask students to try these as they come up.
【学習形態】The learning mode is ‘learn English in English’. Most of the lesson will be in English. I ask students to imagine that they are living in an English-speaking country.
Most people in that situation learn English by listening and guessing. The situation in class will be very similar. Students will learn realistic English by using it with me and other students.
